Bitcoin (BTC), still struggling to recover from the recent crash, finally got some positive news on Thursday. A mysterious whale, who sold before the crash, repurchased a substantial amount it sold.
According to the news outlet Itsblockchain, the mysterious whale in question bought 3,521 BTC in three separate transactions on May 15, 18 and 19. Whale first bought 753 BTC on May 15, 965 BTC on May 18, and 1,803 BTC on May 19, the day of the big crash.
The average price at which BTC was purchased in three transactions was $ 50,050, $ 44,782 and $ 41,897, respectively.
Interestingly, the same whale sold 3,000 BTC on May 9 at an average price of $ 58,503.
It is said that the whale sold close to 12 thousand BTC at 35-40 thousand dollars in January, and then accumulated again.
Market participants are watching whale activity closely to predict where crypto prices might go. Large investors have the potential to influence prices by buying and selling large volumes.
BTC, which dropped to $ 30,000 on Wednesday, rose 35 percent as of the time of translation and is trading at around $ 41,000. Crypto money is 37 percent away from the all-time high of $ 64,000.
