ISTANBUL, 1 March (Reuters) – The January net profit of the banking sector was 4.34 billion liras with a decrease of 45.2% compared to the same period last year.

According to the January data of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), deposits of the sector were 3.42 trillion TL and loans were 3.55 trillion TL.

While the capital adequacy ratio of the sector was 18% in January, the non-performing loan ratio was 4.08%.
