Since 1 March 2020, the number of Bitcoin ATMs installed worldwide is approaching 10 thousand. According to Coin ATM Radar data, there are currently 16,835 Bitcoin ATMs around the world. This number increased by 57.5 percent, up 9,683 compared to last year, when there were only 7,152 ATMs.
Most of these ATMs are located in the USA. Of the 16,835 Bitcoin ATMs, 13,699, or 81 percent, were installed in the United States.
The number of ATMs in the USA has increased much more compared to the world. The number of Bitcoin ATMs, which was 4,945 on March 1, 2020, increased by 177 percent as of March 10, 2021, to 13,699. Canada ranks second in the list of countries with the most Bitcoin ATMs. Canada is home to about 7.5 percent of ATMs worldwide, or 1,268 Bitcoin ATMs.
On the other hand, the number of Bitcoin ATMs in Austria, which reached 266 in May 2019, decreased to 153 as of this week, declining by 42.5 percent.
In the UK, the highest number of Bitcoin ATMs was seen with 283 in February 2020. This number has declined by about 30 percent today to 199. While the total number of Bitcoin ATMs across Europe was 1,233 in March 2020, this number has increased to 1,273 today.
According to Coin ATM Radar data, an average of 34.6 new Bitcoin ATMs are installed every day. 77.6 percent of these ATMs only support purchases.
